I was schedule to go onboard a vessel which my principal chartered the vessel. There was another agent who was appointed by the vessel owner to handle crews change for the vessel. So I'm the charterer's agent and the other chap was the owner's agent.

This owner's agent, David also happened to be my friend. He called me up just before the ship arrives in Singapore.

David: We must board the vessel together. Problem, this ship have problem.
Me: What problem?
David: Received telex from Master, the cook stabbed the chief officer with a knife.
Me: Did he died?
David: No, but we go up the vessel together.
Me: Huh? Why together? I will be onboard later, got something else to attend to.

So after vessel anchored, 30 min later I was onboard. I saw 2 police coast guard boats standing by which I learned later on it was the Captain requested for it. I went to the Captain cabin and I saw Captain, Chief officer & David. The moment I step in, the Captain locked his door.

The chief officer's head was wounded but not serious. The cook was schedule to be sign off because of his action, however the Captain had no gut to tell him because he was afraid of being stab as well.

So leaving with no choice David, the owner's agent went off to inform the cook himself. The moment he left, the Captain locked his door again. Few minutes later, there was a bang on the door, the Captain did not answer and asking me not to make any noise.

You should see the Captain's expression and it was exactly his behaviors which made me nervous. There I was sitting there wondering what could possible happen if the cook charge in with a knife?

Scenario 1
Cook stabbed Captain which make me a potential eye witness then. (What? Witness to murder crime? I'll be so busy then and that really pissed me off)

Scenario 2
A rage man will stab anyone in his sight, including me. (What? Stab me? If I don't die, how? I'll be busy seeing doctors and that pissed me even more)

The tense moment last for half an hour which at the end of the day, nothing happen. But during the whole episode, I don't know whether to be afraid or amused.
