Spain/Portugal day 4

We're going to Valencia, another city in Spain today. Move out at 8:30am, I concluded my tour group were like army ants. They moved out (hotel) and file back in lines with luggage to the coach in orderly fashion.

As the coach travel, our tour leader who in her 40s talked non-stop most of the time were rubbish. Example, she said that Napoleon is a great conqueror who fight 100 battle, win 100 battle. Nanbei, she thinks she can con me, is it?

Fight 100 battle, win 100 battle? How about the battle of “The Battle of Waterloo” ? Napoleon lost to Britain.

Then she goes on about Columbus. She said he is very important person in history because he is the one who discover America? Without him, America would not become like what she is now.

Oh my God, she really made my little toes laugh. First, did Columbus who was the first to discover America was still in debate. Secondly, without Columbus there always another explorer who will.

Not only this, she tells jokes, she laughed all by herself. I simply cannot stand her. (Later in the week, I also "discover". I realized she is still single. That explain it.....no wonder she talks so much lah.)

What do I in the coach instead listening to her bah?

Finally we reach Valencia at 13:30pm (5 hours). I always said, a hungry man is a angry man. Lunch time!

Brought noodle, meatball and pork that came in a box, costs me 8 Euro/-.

(Mum and sister making purchase)

You know what was the best part? It's for take away only. At this price it doesn't include seating place. Gosh,....

Found a nearby park and we ate there.

(Now I know how our own Singapore worker; Bangla feels when eating in a park)

(Pork was hard as stone.)

Walked around the city Valencia and some pictures taken.

(Please tell me my eye playing trick. It's cost 3 Euro (SG6.00) to make a call? Holy shit)

(This is the bullring building. Where the matadors fight the bull and eventually kills it.)

Bull fighting is very closely associated with Spain so what happens during a bullfight? Bull get kills lor. I actually saw how they kill the bull on TV. Cruel? I don't think so though many will disgree with me.

(The statue was supposely was a great matador)

(See inside? The bull was lead through this door)

Assemble at meeting point (tour group), up the coach and we brought to a place known as El Miguelete Cathedral.

The Cathedral presides over the historic centre of the city. One of the most emblematic monuments in the town. It is early gothic in style and inside you'll find wonderful treasures, such as the Holy Grail in one of the side chapels and its construction dates from 1381

(In Spain there a lot of beautiful fountains like the one behind us)

(Was given a listening device)

Then we climb the bell tower of the cathedral which more than 50 meters of height. It's also worth climbing the 207 steps to the top of 'el Miguelete', the bell-tower, for the fantastic panoramic views over the old quarter.

(Oh yeah, we were out of breathe after reaching the top)

(Took me ten minutes before I recover.....must be my cigarettes)

(As you can see, no modern building)

Climbing down the tower was a breeze though. Next to the Cathedral was this road stall which sell mostly souvenir, cooking utensil and pictures tiles.

(Nothing to buy, really.)

By the way, you know how much a small coke cola cost in Macdonald? In Singapore only SGD1.20, there costs SGD3.20/-. Ouch!

Left this place at 5:50hrs to a small town call Alicante whereby we will stay for the night. Journey about 2hrs.

Will there be some pub/disco there? Or even some stripping bars? I'm anxious, my mind begun to wander, filled with pleasure as our coach passed by the Mediterranean seacoast to Alicante.

During the 3 days stay, I noticed a lot of building were carved graffiti into their own walls and even monuments. Ah...Singapore is best (Caning for graffiti). Oh, I noticed over here most cars were in manual drive for brand new or even luxurious cars like Merc and BMW rather than auto. I wonder why?

Tonite really sucks! Let me illustrated what I gone through upon reaching hotel.

8.00pm – Reach hotel
8:15pm – Luggage up liao.
8:30pm – Here come the bread. (yes bread again)
9:00pm – Arrival the salad
9:30pm – Now the main course.

Just to let you know, in European countries they served food fucking slow. Ang mo likes to eat slow, enjoy their food and chat at the same time. Not us Chinese, we Chinese do things chop chop. Fast and furious. Grab and go. Eat and split. You get the idea

Nanbei can finished a meal in 15min flat, took us 1.5hrs.

After dinner, bathe and I went to see when can I go myself for the night. Outside the hotel was the Mediterranean sea, I was standing on the walkway as I scanned around to see any interesting place around.

I glared at my right as far as my eye can see. Alas only road. I stared at my left, nope. The nearest was like, I don't even know how far it was. Sigh!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
(It's about 9:45pm and still quite bright)

I was gloomy as I walked back my hotel. The cool salty breeze caressing me as if it were my lover, slapped, spanked, my hair pulled and teasing me. Fuck...where my stripping bar, I wondered?

To turn off my mind, I nearly stamp burning cigarettes on my arm. No pub/ no disco/ no nothing. Had to sleep early again tonight, really depressing.

Damn, Spain really boring place at night.
