Nathan has been re-elected to a second six-year term in office as President. He is the ONLY candidate qualified to stand for election, having been issued the Certificate of Eligibility by the Presidential Elections Committee.

There were three others who filed for the certificate were rejected which mean we have no election.....yet again.

As a Singaporean, I thought I have the power to vote for my elected president this time. But at the end of the day, I am just like everyone here, we have no say at all.

The majority of Singaporeans should be the one to decide who should be the president and why the election committee can override the majority interests? If this is the case, I urge this Presidential Election system to be cease. It's a waste of people's money and time to stage such wayang.

If Kuan is as bad as the newspaper said, then let him go into election and let the people vote and decide. Why afraid? If Nathan is good, he will win hands down for sure, so why worry about that Kuan?

I suspect if Kuan are allow to run for president, he probably will win...BIG.

By the way, is it still necessary to have a President? Paying over 2 millions for his salary? We can save all the money! During National Day Parade get our PM to stand there and if not, our D.PM also can do.

On a more serious note, I don't think any erection election to make any different here. Whether it's the storekeeper, some retired tutor or even some chap selling roti prata becomes President, it still won't change our life for the better. Period.

Still there's nothing more piss off than this.
There goes my public holiday!
