Day one in KL

Woke up my body aches, all my muscles sore and my mother was even worst condition than me. We decided to leave for KL in order to avoid Joyce. This decision I believe was the wisest we ever made so far in our lives. Told Miss Malacca (Joyce) of our little adjustment in plan and we made our way to bus terminal in the morning.

Ticket to KL was rather cheap (RM7.90) and it took just under 2 hrs to reach there. Before boarding our bus, I gave Miss Malacca a grinned of relieved.

Left Malacca at 10:00am and reached KL 11:50am.

Once disembarked my mum and I crossed the bridge and found a budget hotel. RM50 for one night we took it without hesitated.
We took it not because it cheap, it because the aftermath of yesterday walking.
We were too fatigue to walk anymore.

Have a short rest before any exploring of KL and the first stop was the Berjaya Times Square.
I'm sure you guys been to there no point telling more about this place.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com (Taken at indoor amusement park)

We travel to Chinatown and I find this hotel very familiar. Ah yes, Rachel should know.

We didn't explored too much as we both were extremely wear out completely because of too much walking in Malacca. Really, it was a total draining of physical or emotional strength. We reached a verdict, we settled conclusively we are heading back to Singapore tomorrow.

After 2 days of torturing(walking) it time to release some “heat” inside us and I'm not sure what is that called.
It almost like jelly and it's black color. You figure it out.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(KL, Chinatown)

There have hawker stalls selling food along the street side. The atmosphere was good and there was a healthy crowd there that persisted even after midnight, sampling durians, fried oyster cake, claypot rice, grilled fish, satay, etc. I also unearthed a stall selling claypot chicken rice.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

After some observation I told mum this is our dinner.
She nodded with approval.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Claypot sesame oil chicken)

Just next to our table there a stall selling soup boil over charcoal along the busy street.
Wow, must try.

Those who frequently drink soup will know boiling over charcoal is so much better than over the normal fire stove.
It was heavenly!

Mum used to have cook soup in this traditional way but ever since moving to Pasir ris, she stopped.

Still, I told mum this is nothing compare to her cooking and she seemed so pleased. Women whether it 7 years or or 70 years old is all the same, they like to be humor.
(Mum's lotus soup really taste better)

Day two in Malacca

Did I have a good night sleep last night? It's very obvious isn't it?
NO!

Breakfast time, we took a bus to the town to try local dim sum. Malacca is well known for her heritage and tradition and it no surprise most of the houses are very old.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(the place where have our dim sum)

When you enter the town and start your exploration, it almost like a museum on its own. Each building itself like a “ museum within a museum". Everywhere you look, you will see quaint old buildings, in which some are as old as the history of Malacca itself.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Most of the street looked like this)

We started off by visiting a old temple.

See beside my bag? The blue colour?
That's digital camera, I have to use my phone cam for my blog and the digital camera to take serious picture.
Yeah, I was very 'busy' indeed. haha

See the local trishaw.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here, the trishaws will be the most striking thing to catch your eye. Some of the trishaws are old and worn-looking whilst some are impressively gaudy. There are bright tinsels and trinkets in hues of bright orange, red, and yellow hanging from the umbrella covering over these trishaws.

Along the way, I saw something....

Using a man's shaver, he shaving the hair of the pork.

After spending the whole morning exploring the town square, we went to A'Famosa. It the hallmark of Malacca and perhaps one of the most photographed subject. Built by the Portuguese in 1511 as a fortress.

You know how hot is the weather?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

What does it tell you?

We visit the famous Christ Church which more attractive to me than most. Built entirely of red bricks that were brought in from Holland, the building was erected by the Dutch.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(The inside)

We visit another church called the St Franics Xavier's Church.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Oh I forgot, we were eating chendol, Joyce (my mum's friend) was boosting how good Malacca was...bah...bah...bah.
She said even for the local chendol they use younger coconut milk than in Singapore.

Can you believe this crap?

She compared foods, houses, transportation and everything here is cheaper and so much better to Singapore.
Hello......Miss Malacca, comparing Malacca and Singapore is like comparing apple and orange.
What does she know, anyway.

In a mere more than half a day, we covered most of the place of interest. So should we do? Now it time for Joyce to show her so called “quality”. Bring us for dinner and we walked for a good 3 km before reaching. Asked her which bus goes there and she responded, “very near”.

3km near? Under hot sun?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Walking)
Image hosted by Photobucket.com(More walking)

She wants to save bus fare and she rather walk. She is my mum's friend so I had endured her way. I was cursing and swearing from behind. I, never in life walked so much apart from doing my national services, really I'm not kidding. Finally after walking for more than half an hour, we arrived.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Sell satay)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Food it's raw you just dip in the boiling gravy)

We walked again as she want to save on bus fare (RM0.50) and I was raging furious. How come I didn't suggest taking taxi? It is because it her decision and as a respect for my mum's friend, I didn't voice out. Anyway, my mum was beginning to disapproval her way.

What REALLY made me mad was, we arrived a shopping centre she offered to buy us drink. This is the FIRST time she paying! I told her we could buy at the local fast food, instead she said buying in supermarket was cheaper.
Ok, do her way.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Cheapo in pink top with umbrella)

1) She took the non-cold cans drink as it is cheaper than the cold cans drink.

2) Next she went to the fish department and asked for ice.

3) After getting the ice, she placed the 2 cans drink inside and make me carry it.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(One for her, one for me)
(My mum didn't want any drink)

I seldom used to word “fuck” in my blog and I'm not hesitated to use it now.

What the fuck!

This is so fucking embarrassing and like I said before as a respect for my mum's friend I took the job most unwillingly. The ice melt fairly quick and in no time I was holding a plastic bag filled with water and inside, 2 cans drink. The best part was I unintentionally knocked the plastic bags over some rack and it began to leak water.

My goodness, all eyes were staring at me and this is so embarrassing. Wau piang, like this she also want to save. What a cheapo she was. If she was my mother, I disown her right now.

After that we walked another 4 km to our dinner!(Save bus fare again). Save that RM0.50 for fuck. I am really angry, even my mum was mad and when dinner was over Miss Malacca (Joyce) said have to walk again to take bus back home, I was hopping like a grasshopper with enraged. If I'm a person with multiple personalities, I would hold her for as a hostage and slowly torture her.

This time, I took over her command and in no time 3 of us were in a taxi going back her place.

Talk about her, during her conversation with my mum, I found out she washed her hair between 3 to 4 days, cuts her own hair and uses no detergent for washing her clothes.

Stingy, stingy my dear friends.

Her income: She rent a condominium in Orchard road, In return she sub-rent all the rooms to foreign students this way she earns a good living. The condominium in Malacca is also rent out but recently the tenant moves out.

My mum and myself were both exhausted from walking and we agreed the way it goes, we cannot stay long. We must find another alternative.

I think I have the answer.

Day one in Malacca

Our bus at Golden Mile left for Malacca at 9:30am sharp, traffic and the bus journey was very smooth. Reached Malacca bus terminal at 1:45pm. My mum's friend was there and they greeted each other like long lost sister minus the hugging part.

My mum's friend called Joyce was a very thrifty, calculating and most of all, extremely stingy person. Oh no, I'm not judging her by the look and further more it only my first meeting with her. You guys will know later.

We had our lunch at nearby A & W and she led the way to take a bus to her place.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com (Mum on the left)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com (Outside view of the bus terminal)

I was fairly surprise to take a bus instead of a cab since I am prepared to pay but as a respect for the elder I just follow instruction. Not that I can't take bus, it is because the of heavy baggage that's why. The bus fare was very cheap about RM0.50 to RM1.00 depending on the distance.

As you can see, it is no world class public transportation.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Fare: Rm0.60)

As it has no air-con, the driver left front and back door open to allow wind to come in.
Oh yeah, it was very hot.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com (Giving blow with the wind new meaning)

We are staying at her condominium and when I saw how “good” it was, I nearly fainted.
It looked like a old apartment to me.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com(Outside view)

When we went inside, even worst I nearly vomit blood.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comImage hosted by Photobucket.com
(U see the sink on the far end? That is the kitchen!)

It was quite bare, kitchen was terrible condition and TV is not working. Never mind, I told myself just bear with it for a couple of days then we're off. But the real torment was, when I found out me, my mum and including herself will be sleeping together in the living room.

At this point, I feel like strangling Joyce.
Afer so many years watching wrestling, I think it about time to try some of their wrestling moves.

I am under great depression right now, folks.

What does she mean all of us in sleeping in the LIVING room?
Three adults all be sleeping in the living room?
What happened to the other 2 rooms?

I assured you guys it is not occupied.
Ok, my mum and myself sleep in the living but she as well?

Seriuos I don't quite understand her and with her weird behavior's leads to the absence of my moral already. Did I mention when you bathe and tap water is yellowish? Arrgggg......

(By bus) At night, we for dinner near the Meleka Raya Plaza, called the Dragon Inn.
Ordered curry fish head in clay pot for 3 persons.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com (Damage: Rm26)

After dinner, there is no direct bus back to Joyce's house what did she do?
Asked us to walk to another bus stop to take the bus. The catch was, we have to walk.
My goodness, we walked for more than 3km before I give up walking and I finally flag a taxi.

She is a miser person willing to walk for km in search for a bus stop. Even there is no direct bus, we could always change buses to reach her house, right? But she want to save RM0.50 so she walk. She walked, we followed. Damn, I'm so pissed by her even my mum cannot stand her and it's not as if we are asking her to pay.

Fuck, I'm really freaking pissed off by her.
(By the way, lunch, dinner and taxi fare back I paid for it.)

It's only the first day and my nightmare about to begin.

Tomorrow, I will embark on a journey to Malacca with my mother. I was surprising fairly excited by the prospect of this boring trip. Imagine taking bus for few hours, staying with my mum's friend (restrict movement) and traveling with my mum.

Oh God, is this “exciting” or what.

I will take some photos and write about my trip to Malacca from day one to the last when I return.

Stay tune.

From my place, pick up Roger in Landmark hotel where he is working, to Suntech City, I was driving for 11/2hour already and still no sign of getting out of my vehicle.

No, I was not trying to be a marathon driver but I found myself in caught in a traffic jam and when I finally reached Suntech (Roger wants to go IT 2005 ), there was no parking space. Drove around and there is no parking space available in the 2 km radius.

Sensing this hopeless situation, I shaked my head and I advised Roger to abandoned his mission, instead we should go for dinner and a nice chit. I know he craved for a lap-top but I understand he will not get it from the IT show. He just wants to compare the prices that all.

Did he agreed?
No way!
He refused to give in and insists his objectives will not change.

I could tell this person sitting besides me is one stubborn man, not easily give up and very focuses on his target. With his great virtues he should sign on for the Army and with more men like him our country should be in good hands.

As for myself, I am a person who is lack of patience and ultimately impatience
prevail. We headed for China Square for our dinner and there a flea market going on.

I saw one stall selling vintage items and there I found a 25 Hours watch.
25 Hours watch?
Supposedly to be vintage? (laughing)

I will end here for I am very tired. (Slept only for 2 hours last night)

I guess you guys must have seen the movie "Lord of the Rings" and someone actually wrote the movie's characters in a very humor way.

It called, "Lord of the Ring secret Diaries"

If you can't remember to movie scene or have no humor at all, then most probably you wouldn't enjoy it.
I have upload some pics in case you forgot the characters.

Here a few sample extract,

The very secret diary of Aragorn.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Day One:
Ringwraiths killed: 4 Vs good.
Met up with Hobbits. Walked forty miles. Skinned a squirrel and ate it.
Still not King.

Day 28:
Beginning to find Frodo disturbingly attractive. Have a feeling if I make a move, Sam would kill me.
Also, hairy feet kind of a turn-off. Still not King.

Day 34:
Frodo went to Mordor. Said he was going alone, but took Sam with him. Why?
My God, is everyone in this movie gay but me?
Not so sure about me either. Still not King, goddammit.

The very secret diary of Legolas.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Day One:
Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there.
Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano.
Very important mission -- gold ring so tacky

Day Four:
Boromir so irritating. Why must he wear big shield like dinner plate all the time?
Climbed up Caradhras but wimpy humans who cannot walk on snow insisted we climb back down.
Am definitely prettiest member of the Fellowship. Go me!

Day Six:
Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.
Orcs so silly.
Still the prettiest

The very secret diary of Boromir.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Day One:
Went to Council of Elrond. Aragorn acting all superior as usual. He thinks he's so great because he's shagging that bit of elf crumpet on the side. I mean just because someone has a broad chest, firm, defined muscles, an outdoorsy tan and loads of manly stubble doesn't mean that....what? Got distracted there for a bit. Seem to have agreed to go on some sort of mission while distracted by Aragorn's enormous...rudeness.
Ooops.

Day Four:
Frodo dropped Ring today. Picked it up, but Aragorn made me give it back. Arrogant bastard.
Wonder how he'd feel with Horn of Gondor shoved right up his......
Stupid Ring.

Day 33 :
Frodo being all weird about the Ring. Won't even let me look at it. Must admit I had a bit of a tussle with him trying to get a gander at it. Rolled around on him till he went invisible. Resisted urge to have a little cuddle (made easier when he punched me in the face). Aragorn would be jealous. Ha!

Funny, right?

I'm going to Malacca next week, Tuesday to be exact and the trip was proposed by my mum. You see, initially she going to visit a friend alone. Usually when she travel she has my sister, brother in-law or her friends accompanied her for any expedition but not his time.

Leaving with no choice, acting as her bodyguard, I decided to join her for this trip this time, however I will return to Singapore first as she intend to stay until 22 Mar 05. Will stay with her friend as she lives alone in a condominium in Malacca. Learn from my mum that she is never married and she is as senior as my mum.

Like a gifted fortune teller, I predicted my trip will be unexciting, lame and most of all lifeless. Imagine going out with 2 senior citizens how thrill can it be, right? On top of that, staying at someone's home my movement will be kind of restricted like can't go back late in case everybody is asleep.....etc.

Having said that, I remember there an advertisement on Emirate Airway and selling point was “When was the last time you do something for the first time?” Come to think of it, I never travel with my mum, I mean just both of us to somewhere out of Singapore. I travel to Australia and New Zealand with my mum and sister but never just both of us.

So this is something I do for the first time in long long time. I will unload pictures in Malacca when I return, it's kind of motivation to read my blog isn't it?

I just read today The New Paper and I realized a lot of so-called celebrities are naming their children weird and exotic name. Oh my goodness, what happen to the traditional name?

Actor Allen Wu's daughter is called Sage. What kind of name is that?
I know the word SAGE in Singapore stand for “Singapore Action Group of Elders”. My dad used to work there.

Apart calling his youngest son Raffles, Ah Neo other sons are Regent and Ritz. Sound like a chain of hotels to me. I know that our government launch a campaign on “Uniquely Singaporean” but surely this is not the direction we are heading are we?

One of Ivy Lee's twin son is called Dash.
Mamma mia, is that name taken form the movie “Incredible?”

Really, what happen to the dialect name? Why couldn't they keep it simple is beyond my comprehension. Think having such name it would really stand out above other?

Yes, I think so. When their child is in primary and secondary school, rest assure their names will be making fun off by their classmates.

It's none of my business still I cannot help but comment.

Couple of days back, I saw Zoe is giving press conference on TV about her labour pains, confinement, bah....bah....bah. I thought to myself, "Wau lau, like this also must have press conference."

Jesus, what's up with all these people?
What is the hoo-ha all about?
An average Joe or plain Jane on the streets will cares?

The reason I writing this is because Zoe name her kid Brayden.

Brayden......really, I think she must have consulted Pan Ling Ling on this matter after all Pan Ling Ling name her son Beckham. By the way, Beckham it's a surname. Why follow someone surname is beyond me.

I check the meaning and found out that

Bray - To utter the loud, harsh cry of a donkey.
Den - The shelter or retreat of a wild animal; a lair.

That was a joke, to be fair, at least the name really do exist.

BUT nothing......I mean nothing more exotic than the name Ah Neo name his son Raffles.
Using google or yahoo I can't even found another person called name Raffles except Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles who founded Singapore.

I have a supplier who called himself Richman. If I'm not wrong, Richman is not the first name, it's a surname. What's up with him?

In Asia some celebrity singer called themselves Fish Leong (Liang Jing Ru) and Noodle Cheng(Cheng Yee Kin). If let says, they got married and have a kid, I reckon the child will called Fish Noodle irregardless of gender.

(A scenario)
Fish Leong & Noodle Cheng asking what their child wants to eat.
Parents: Fish Noodle, would you like a bowl of fish noodle?

Personally, I feel that whatever special or unusual name you can have, it will not stand out above the rest if one's character/moral have nothing to desire.

This is to inform all my friends that my house phone line has been discontinue. I gave up my land-line and became a dedicated mobile phone user.

Why? Even my mum's friend call her on her mobile phone most of the times. Remember no need to call my house number.

I have a confession. I am not popular with girls. Whenever I had any conversation with the opposite sex there is something which I dread of.

Feminism.

Female feminism demand equal rights and opportunities for women. They want to treat equal as the men but at the same time they want the men to treat them like Empress Dowager Ci Xi. They seek equal opportunities in work place and if given any power they would abused it treating men like slave and behave like a bitch. I am not even exaggerating one bit.

They also whine about their maintain their career and marriage together. Seriously, I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career.

First of all, I am not discriminate against women, but there are some women whom I spoke to who lost a debate they would abandon all logic and retort insulting you with something that has no relevance to the argument like I am a pig chauvinistic. I have long given up any healthy discussion with female feminism instead now I talk dirty to them and guess what? They love it, laughing hysterically, like a lunatic on drugs. See what I mean.

Although I'm not favour by lady feminism but I'm still likeable for example my friend, Stephanie the workaholic.

(Smiling like always)

Wonder why she in Parkway? Like working for a debt agency, she is here to collect premium from one of her client. Let me set the record straight for once. She already has a boyfriend and I was told that he knew about my blog too.

Can I ask you, Mr ? (Stephanie's boyfriend) is your girlfriend a female feminism?

What do I think?
Not at all, but I believe she is quite self-obsessed with her appearance.
Let me explain,

I have my lunch first as Stephanie arrived only at 12:45pm. Went to this place which I have no idea what was the restaurant's name. Darn after all these years in Parkway I don't even know this restaurant exists.

Since I had my lunch earlier I can only watch her in action and trying my best to match her appetite

While waiting for her food to be serve, we were having idle conversation and I found out she went for a image dressing course. It's a course that teach you to dress with style so one look credible, successful and confident. Clothes that complement you physically, express your personality, are appropriate for the occasion and current.

Rachel's colleague once went for a makeover just to have her photo taken.
Guess what? Both of them are in insurance business.

My eyes acting like a surveillance camera, I noticed her dressing improve.
Not bad, telling to myself, the course do help.

Please tell me after looking at this pic, what other course she should attend?

(Oh graciousness me)

I strongly recommend a crash course on etiquette.

Her client only free at 4pm at the eleventh hour so what did she do?
She went for spa and facial treatments to pamper herself

After my work at 5pm, together we went to Reds for my hair cut and her hair treatment as she still in Parkway.

So how do she look after that?

(backview)

(front view)

Nice.
Self-obsessed with her appearance?
You be the judge.
